Teena koutou katoa, ngaa mihi mahana ki a koutou. Nau mai haere mai.

We extend a very warm welcome to everyone, particularly to the whaanau of those who lie at the Pukekohe urupaa without the recognition they deserve.

We understand the decades of pain this has caused, and we offer our unwavering support and love as we work together to honour their memory.

Remembering and acknowledging those at the urupa has always been a priority for our Marae and our community. Over the last few years, we joined together with whaanau, Ngaati Tamaoho, the Franklin Local Board, and other dedicated groups, to embark on this important journey.

We know there is much to be done, and we are committed to moving forward with sensitivity and respect.

Your voices matter. The community engagement we’ve shared in our hui has been invaluable, and we will continue to listen and learn.

We invite you to share your stories and experiences, knowing that this website can be a safe space for your voices to be heard.

If you would like to share your stories and experiences, please reach out to us. We are here to listen with open hearts.

Ngaa mihi, ngaa manaakitanga,

Raemon Matene
Chairperson, Ngaa Hau E Whaa Marae
